Charging while it's raining
Greetings,
I also have a Chevrolet Volt - EV mode for 65 miles. No issues with charging in rain / wet weather. The plug / receptacle for the car end is designed to be self draining and seal from the elements.
The charging station is usually the weak link. If the station is installed outdoors, make sure it is properly hard wired or the plug / receptacle is of a weather-tite design.
The spec for the charging plug was written with inclement weather in mind.
