2018 P4S West Coast Hold?

My custom order 2018 P4S was unloaded from the ship in San Diego on 9/22 destined for Northern California. As of 10/9, dealer says car is still at port waiting for approval (EPA?) to truck up to NorCal . . . anyone else have the same problem? Any custom order 2018's P4S delivered in NorCal so far?

When it reaches port it can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks to get released.

my understanding is that after the diesel issue, they are requiring VAG to re-certify every car every year even if there were no changes from one year to the next. So all 2018 have to pass certification even though the 2017's already have. This is delaying everything - not sure if it's an F-you to them or what but it's certainly wreaking havoc on the delivery timelines

I ordered an '18 P4S in early Sept in SoCal. Was supposed to lock late Sept. Early Oct. I tried to make a change the dealer said the build is locked can't change anything. I called yesterday to inquire about the vehicle status and they said it doesn't show build locked anymore. The dealer said they were awaiting word from Atlanta on what the vehicle status is. Totally bizarre, no idea what's going on.

It was just my car, not an emissions issue - learned from dealer after delivery that a wheel (21" Sport Design) was damaged someplace during transport and delay was due to wheel shipping from Germany and install at the port. At least that's the story the dealer told me. Car landed in San Diego on 9/22 and I picked it up from the dealer in NorCal on 10/26.

Love the car (2018 4S), it's replacing a 2014 4S, surprising how different (better) it drives despite similar builds. Will post pics and impressions soon.

I'm in a '15 PGTS currently and recently test drove an '18 4S. The PDK felt so different to me it didn't seem as smooth. However it was a very brief test drive I need more time with the car. How do you find the PDK shifting on your '18?

I've only had it for 4 days so experience is more like an extended test drive about half highway, half local roads. PDK in my 2014 was smooth and I don't notice any difference in this one so far. I have seen some report's of choppy 2018 PDK's, so I was looking for it in the beginning, but since it did not appear, I forgot about it. Could be a software update that has not been pushed out to the dealers yet.
