Strange Noise - Panamera 4 (2012)

I'm newly subscribed to this Forum but have been following the advice for some time. Hoping someone here might be able to provide some assistance.

I had a strange incident occur with my Panamera earlier today. I was pulling out of a parking lot and there was a terrible sound coming from the front driver's side tire (sounded like a the car was dragging something). I stopped the car, checked beneath the vehicle and found nothing. Also opened the hood while the engine was running -- but the noise only occurred while the car was moving. I drove a little further and the sound persisted (it was quite loud). I again stopped the car, turned off the motor and waited a few minutes. When I re-started the car again, the noise was gone. Never had this issue before and no visible sign of any issues. I had the winter tires (Michelin on 19" OEM rims) installed a few weeks ago, but there hasn't been any issue until today. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just check the rim and make sure it s all tight as someone else just changed your wheels I assume.
I have seen something get stuck between rotors and brake pads and make a terrible noise until it breaks up.
Did you notice the sound change or stay the same when on the brake??
Also was the car parked for over a day or so when this happened? (surface rust on rotors).
Both of the above issues clear them selves with no damage.

Thanks for the reply.
The car had been parked for about an hour in an outdoor lot. Sound only peristed while the car was moving. I don’t recall if it changed when I pressed on the brakes. But it did stop after I drove the car around the lot and pressed on the brakes a few times.

The winter tires are on their own rims and were installed at the Porsche dealership. I had been driving in them for a couple weeks before the noise incident.

You may be right about it being something caught between the rotors and the pads since I haven’t heard the sound again since that first incident. Just not clear what it could have been. It was an extremely loud sound.

not Sure if it’s the same problem as me, but I just had to have my drivers side axle and front passenger side axle due to loud noise.
