V6 or V8?????

Good evening all. I知 in the market for a used Panamera 2010-2014 and I知 wondering if any V6 owners regret not buying the V8 or vice versa. I知 leaning towards a V8 with the sport exhaust but have an opportunity for a nicely equipped V6 at a bargain. Thanks in advance

For a car of this size and elegance, a V8 seems like the minimum number of cylinders to me. I think of Buick Regals when I think V6.

I brought a really low mileage 2014 Panamera V6 last December, 13K miles and got a great deal. Couldn't be happier, its definitely no slouch.

I test drove a 6 and yes its not a slouch as Leslie says, but I simply feel that the 8 cylinder is perfect for this chassis.

Thanks for all the responses. I致e always had M cars and obviously bought them for a reason. I致e driven both v6 and v8 and am just torn between performance and a perfectly sped壇 out car (in my opinion).

+1

And since you've had experiences with M cars...the 8 will keep you more than satisfied and I fear the 6 may have you wanting more shortly after you get over the features.

You need a rumble from a v8 for such a large car with such a large presence
Anything smaller would just seem churlish !

I drove the V6 and was very surprised with the power. No disappointments.
Sound is a bit more conservative compared to my V8, but for a Pano that is not an issue for me.

I drove a V6 turbo before settling on my V8 turbo. The 6 is not close to the 8 performance in my seat of the pants evaluation.

I致e had a v6 and currently a v8 970. Obviously there is more power with the 8 but one could argue that relative to the amount of time that power is used its not a priority. But, smoothness ( less vibration) is always there and for me, that justifies the higher cost.

I have a 2012 P4 and have no regrets not getting a V8. I do not have any plans on ever tracking this car, I bought it for Interstate driving, get 30 mpg at 70-75 mph.

From your posts it sounds like you will be disappointed if you get the V6. If you're not in a hurry, keep looking for a perfectly spec'd V8.

The V6 has more than enough pep for most situations, in my opinion. I drove several Panameras with v6 and v8 engines, and I found that I preferred the v6. The V8 is just slightly smoother, but the v6 feels so much more nimble and the handling was much better than the v8. I also like the extra space in the engine bay the v6 offers.
