Baby Carseat (rear facing) Suggestions
Baby Carseat (rear facing) Suggestions
Picked up a 2015 GTS and while I patiently wait for it to be delivered figured I'd get a start on ordering a car seat for my 10 month old daughter. Found a previous thread that was helpful but it was focused on forward facing seats for kids who are older.
Does anyone have any experience/suggestions in rear facing car seats for the 18-way seats in alcantara? And did you have to use a pool noodle or diono noodle? Additionally any suggestions for car seat protector to use under it would also be appreciated!

is the space any different than 17 panameras?
I have a 18 Panamera as a daily driver with a 2 year old who is still rear facing, doesn't have alcantara seats but I don't see how that would effect being able to use a newer car seat unless it doesn't have the clips that go into the bars that are hidden between the seats cushions, I've need used the seat belt hookup of older car seats.
Make sure to get a seat protector for when your child is big enough to wear shoes and start kicking the seat or stuff on the bottom of its shoes hitting the seat, and to also protect against the carseat leaving creases or etc in the seat from the weight and always being in one spot. I don't use anything to balance the seat, but it has a base that lets you know if its level or not.

It’s been a few years but I had a Britax car seat. It started out rear facing for infants then could be turned and used as a child forward facing car seat. I used a Prince Lionhart seat protector. Hope this helps.
I use a Graco 10way adjustable carseat, that has a detachable base. I don't think it matters how wide the carseat itself is, its the base/whatever part that goes into the seat as long as its balanced with the seat.
I would personally try to look into carseats you like and possibly find a place with a good return policy and test it out to be safe, because depending on your childs size, if you want one that turns into a booster seat, or etc needs to fit your needs. Mine is pretty big but no one else is ever in the back seat, and I never take the carseat out but when the children are infants you would be carrying around the carseat more often so you may want something more compact/lighter for example.
