Porsche panamera Psm failure / auto start deactivated causes?
On a porsche panamera im reading up on psm failure light & auto start deactivated are there any specific causes for that error im seeing many answers just wanted to know if someone with experience can give a list of possible causes that may be giving that error.
I got this error recently, PSM failure plus CEL was on.
Came home, plugged in my Durametric cable, and saw misfire on cylinder 2.
Replaced all my spark plugs, cleared all codes, and all perfect.
I do not have a complete list of what could be causing this, but assume anything that would influence the car performance given mode it is in. So if you are in sport, air suspension goes into play, trans mapping, engine mapping, associated sensors.
If you switch to sport plus, adding height, remapping again. Of course, spark plugs/coils are vital to proper engine operation.
Hope this helps you in some way. I think getting the car scanned for detailed codes is step one for sure here, to narrow down which system is affected.

I've been having these errors too and after a trip to the dealership was informed that the 22" wheels I had where causing the issue. No CEL but 4WD error and the others mentioned in the title. I have a '14 Panamera 4. Not sure if I trust the dealership's diagnosis though, especially after hearing the causes others found.
On the 4wd error.
If the outside circumference of the tires you have on the car front / back are not the same, it can/will cause havoc with the 4wd system. Check the tire sizes for match--- it's not really the wheel sizing that matters.
