Panamera email and txt messages on PCM
SubscribeI asked a few of these questions sometime ago, did not get what I thought was enough detail.
Hoping someone can chime in to clarify more.
Found that one can read txt and email messages on PCM.
Initially thought there is a special way to to pair the cell phone. However after searching, I found I am pairing the phone correctly.
Recently found that to read txt/email, the PCM has to have its SIM card.
Can someone confirm this to me? hard to get details on this.
Also, if the sim card info is true, can I get second sim card for my cell phone so that I dont have to remove one from my phone?
Trying to find a way to make this work without hassles.
Thank you.

I believe you have to have installed and use "Apple Carplay" for email and texting.
I can read the Texts on my screen 2014 4s with no sim card, just phone blue tooth connected
I can read texts on my 2015 4S via Bluetooth, I also get a chime that lets me know that a text came in. The chime you turn on by going into your IPhone > Settings > Bluetooth > pick Porsche BT then info dot > turn ON show notifications
Found a different newer doc on the Bluetooth functionality

I think this is important to the what you're trying to do

"In Porsche cars since November 2012 it is
possible to transfer SMS and e-mail messagesfrom the mobile phone to PCM. This functionenables the customer to read messages storedin the phone directly on the PCM screen. To use this feature, the mobile phone must support theBluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP)"
Sounds like I am SOL here....lol.
Would have to check with dealer if FW update is possible to make this happen. If so, I am sure they will be more than glad to rip me a new one with price for that action.
