David, I cannot easily get the throttle connector off on my 971. Any ideas?
I don't remember what size the torx was, maybe a 20, 23, or 27, but there is only one. After you have the torx bolt removed, slide the accelerator pedal upward, then towards you. It should come free easily.

The problem you are probably having is disconnecting the wiring harness from the pedal itself. The grey tab at the top has to be depressed while you slide the connector away. I used a small flathead screwdriver and slid it between the two connections as I depressed the gray tab. I went very slowly because I did not want to break the connector. With a little patience, it came off. That is the most difficult part of the whole job.

Although this is a different device, he shows how to disconnect the wiring harness from the accelerator pedal.

You will absolutely love the personality change and responsiveness. I hope this helps.

I would offer to come over and lend a hand, but I see that you are in Atlanta and I am in SoCal. Just be gentle and patient and it will come loose.

Ok got it done. Have to take Torx out for sure first time. There was a small square red tab that you just flip up and comes right off. Had a bit of a time tucking away the booster plug.

Anyway what a hoot. Car is a lot more responsive all around, but race mode at 9 is way too extreme and easy to YoYo the car lol. I settled on sport mode @8.

Thanks for the guidance Dave and others!

Yeah I almost always run in sport 7. Race 9 is hard to drive without looking like a fool

Outstanding! I used some black zip ties to tuck the harness back and keep it semi-clean looking. Have fun and enjoy!

Just got and installed the booster and happy with the results. Still trying to figure the best setting for my taste. As far as removing the pedal clip, I found it MUCH easier to use and adjustable plier to pop it off, came of very easy. I tucked away the control on the driver side lower console niche and double sided taped it for easy accessibility to changing the settings. So far, I’m liking race mode 7 with Sport mode off and sport mode 8 with Sport on. This was definitely an awesome purchase!

I have used a Sprint Booster on several vehicles with good results, including a 14 Panamera S. Installed on a '17 Panamera Turbo Worked just fine for about 1000 mi, then acted "stupid" causing weird transmission shifts. Car was undriveable. I removed Sprint Booster, and all was just fine. Contacted Sprint Booster. They seemed incredulous as to a possible failure; and asked that I reinstall. I waited a couple of months just to see if it was a Porsche problem covered by warranty - Warranty expired on 4.17/21. Reinstalled Sprint Booster - immediately same problems - car undriveable. I was done with Sprint Booster - didn't even want a warranty replacement.
I had a RaceChip to install; and decided to spend the $$ to buy RaceChip's "Pedal Commander" (sic). Pedal Commander works just like a Sprint Booster. Electronic "box" on Pedal Commander is much larger than Sprint Booster.
So.....my recommendation is to install a Pedal Commander (about same price), particularly if you intend to use a RaceChip.

I've had Sprint Boosters on multiple cars and never had any issues. To the post above ^^^^^ pedal commander does work the same way, because they use technology that was originated by Sprint Booster. Safe to say you'll hear the same complaints about both unit because they are so similar. It's mostly preference at this point and which one you trust. Everyone should do their research on both units.
