I was curious to see if anyone has changed out the restrictive rubber charge pipe with a custom larger 3" aluminum pipe with reduction coupler from plenum and to intercooler. If anyone has done this, any significant gains from the increased air flow? Where did you have the work done? I can't seem to find any vendor that even makes these for our cars. It's either 3" y-pipe or plenum, not both.

No. The only plumbing that comes to mind on the market are AP CF & Fabspeed units and the fit on the AP is terrible.
Fabspeed has a positive and history and their offering seems nice: https://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-970...ercooler-pipe/
No need for IPD plenum if you go that route.

would this be the old IPD v. fab speed y pipe argument. Which is better/ produces most gains with a catless DP and resonator delete and FVD tune?

IPD. My 11 TT is cat-less with GIAC tune. Resonator delete wont increase HP - just cabin drone.

I went down the simple path with an IPD intake, tune and filter. I did do some testing in the following order.

Tune plus air filter - 121 MPH quarter.
added IPD intake (ordered and had to wait) - 124 MPH

So, I was skeptical on the intake making much of a difference but it worked.

At the minimum, the IPD plenum eliminates the plastic OE part.
