Panamera 4 (V6) - enough power?

Thanks for reading! - due to financial circumstances (paying college tuition for daughters LOL) I sold my 911TT (997 variant) and purchased(not delivered yet) a 2011 Panamera 4 (great deal, loaded and mint) BUT....my question is: will I be frustrated with the V6? Yes, I
did a test drive - but, I was kinda rushed LOL. My commute is rural - not much highway travel. Secondly,...is there anything I should look for (major, known faults 2011) AND/OR anyway to increase power a tad (chip/tune? pipes?) THANKS! Cool joining the Panamera ranks..but also saving for newer 911 turbo...2 year plan ; )

Welcome ! I have both a Metger 911 Turbo and a Pannie Turbo S. Both my cars are flashed. Nothing comes close to a flashed 911 Turbo, not even a Pannie Turbo S, so please keep on saving You will like the Pannie since it is a very luxurious car. I also used mine for commuting and to be honest, with too much power on tap you constantly want to push it and get annoyed by other commuters who ride redneck vehicles (pick-ups) or who apply makeup on their way to the office, so your V6 might be OK. Enjoy all the new amenities and possibly the Burmeister stereo.
Know issues :
- suspension bushings wear out (lots of threads about this)
- thermostat housing cooling lines are epoxied. There's been rare incidents of the coolant pipes coming loose
- make sure all recalls have been performed, there's been quite some

The na 3.6 V6 is a sweet motor that likes to rev. It needs to be reved and pushed to move the panny around with much authority. 300hp in a 4000+lb car is none to much. It's roughly a high 5 sec car to 60mph. Being naturally asperated it needs revs to make the power. I enjoyed driving the later 330hp version of the 3.6 very much. I drove it in cool conditions. Because the motor was fun to push, I found the power to be adequate. I did have a concern that on hot days in the summer with high ac loads, or with more people in the car, the motor might feel a little overwhelmed. A Softronic tune is claimed to give another 25hp on 93 octane. It should also improve throttle response based on my experience with a Softronic tune on my 987. I don't have any recommendations on aftermarket exhaust.

If you will be frustrated depends on your expectations. If you want power like the 997tt than you will be very frustrated. You won't will any drag races with the Panamera 4. My wife's Volvo XC70T6 wagon with the 3.0t I6 it quicker. But the Panamera 4 is a fun car to drive and push hard. With the relatively light weight nose the steering and turn in is very good. The engine has a nice sound. It's a fun car, but not particularly fast in a straight line.

Great information - Sounds like the Pan4 will be fine - as long as expectations are in line ; )
