No Cats/Sport Cats

Who's got them?

Been looking around and there is not much of a selection. I am partial to the Sport Cats for a few reasons but there is only about 3 or 4 brands and darn pricey. Looking mostly at FVD as I have their tune and they are being really nice to me on price due to the stupid high US exchange rate, but even then, spendy.

Just looking to hear about sound improvements, any drone, performance, etc.

Thanks in advance

Bob

FVD race down-pipes here - no cats. For the turbo cars a recommend no cats. The spool and sound is incredible. If you must have cats then I suggest 100-cell units.

I have FVD catless and I wouldn’t go back. I also have the FVD primary muffler bypass but haven’t installed it yet.

both sound and performance, for the O2 sensors I used spacer and when I got the tune i removed the spacers. Next to the tune this is a must have mod for turbo spec cars.

thr only pita is the install this is a hard part to install, I had a local shop do it for $600 they broke several studs and spent days drilling them out. A lift is mandatory when replacing down pipes

AMEN. I was lucky and only 2 studs gave me trouble. $600 is good price considering what a PITA they are to install.

What's the difference between gutting the current cats. VS buying catless pipes?

inthink the after markets maybe be a few mm larger in diameter. If you have the ability or a shop willing to gut your oem downpipes that’s most likely the most economical solution.

But HP wise it wouldn't make a difference?

Oh it will - you're deleting the biggest restriction in the exhaust.
