As far as a exhaust mod, I just had an exhaust shop replace the resonator with a straight pipe. Around $300. No drone (actually very little change in the cabin), no CEL, and gives a little more bark and burbles, here is a video I took.

I've been watching this video over and over

thanks for the info! I’ll do some more research on this for sure

After exploring several options I have decided against it. Main rationale is that :
- nothing beats the sound of the Burmeister
- the car is extremely well insulated => it is going to be tough to enjoy the new exhaust to the maximum
- my sports exhaust is actually not that bad. It becomes way more enjoyable when I stand behind the car as opposed to sitting inside a sound insulated capsule.
thanks for the info. I do know the sports exhaust got louder after the 2014 facelift. Still, if mine had factory sport exhaust I probably wouldn’t mess with it either.

any thoughts on how to get the most out of the Burmester? Maybe I have the equalizer set wrong or maybe it’s just that I’m mainly using mp3s burned into a DVD for now until I figure out how to get real CD quality with all my music.

I have it set to +1 bass, +5 treble and Surround. Anyone found a better setting?

Welcome to the club!

I have the Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) too and it sounds good, especially with the resonator bypassed with straight pipes. I am soon to be switching out to an uprated exhaust system though so if the PSE is something you're interested in, let me know.

+2 for Burmester. Nastiest, loudest, craziest sound system in a car. It's phenomenal.
