Bought our first Porsche a few months ago (2012 Panamera Turbo), and absolutely loving it. It's everything I thought a first Porsche would be.
I do wish I had done just a bit more research before buying. From what I can tell, ours is very well equipped but doesn't have the sports exhaust - and man is that an option I'd love to have! And, as much as I do like our color scheme (carbon metallic gray exterior on beige leather and natural wood interior), I've since seen others that are absolutely beautiful (specifically - white leather on gray wood, and dark red leather on silver wood) that I wish I had known about at the time. But on the whole really enjoying this car and the driving experience. This car is a blast. The power and the handling is other-worldly, and the interior is fantastic. And personally, I love the exterior styling even in the earlier models.
If anyone has any helpful tips / experiences / nuances to share with a newbie, it's much appreciated.
Congrats, you'll love the Burmester. Best sounding upgraded factory stereo I've been in. Not sure what the Bose system sounds like in these cars so I can't really compare.

thanks, I’m loving it already. Sounds incredible. My last car had a nice Bose system and it sounded good, but this is on another level.
Congratulations...go with an aftermarket exhaust to solve the sport exhaust issue. My AWE still puts the **** eating grin on my face every time I start it up.

thanks for the tip. Does that drone on the highway? Loud enough to wake neighbors?

No drone at all, a nice rumble at startup and enough for people to look, but it quickly returns to solid tone. Now in the garage backed in...enough to wake up the wife.
Congrats! Enjoy!! I wanted the burmeister option as well, but couldn't find one with the other options I wanted, love that speaker casing!
As far as a exhaust mod, I just had an exhaust shop replace the resonator with a straight pipe. Around $300. No drone (actually very little change in the cabin), no CEL, and gives a little more bark and burbles, here is a video I took.

It is not really "straight pipes" as you still have your cats and mufflers. I haven't had any issues (CEL or inspeciton) and it has been about 20k miles.
Congrats and welcome to the club !
While I do have the sports exhaust option, I've been on the fence myself to get some more rumble.
After exploring several options I have decided against it. Main rationale is that :
- nothing beats the sound of the Burmeister
- the car is extremely well insulated => it is going to be tough to enjoy the new exhaust to the maximum
- my sports exhaust is actually not that bad. It becomes way more enjoyable when I stand behind the car as opposed to sitting inside a sound insulated capsule.
