We got out '13 almost two years ago now just after the first smog required here in CA (at 6 years). Just had to smog it to renew the license registration. Most places if you call to get an estimate will immediately ask what kind of car is it. (Gulp, if I have to say Porsche Panamera).

I've been going here diligently for a long time, cash only but get this, (non-Test Only)- $32. Red Box Auto Repair in Alhambra. (Paid the same price as the Camry that was done right before me). For Test Only tests he charges $10 more IIRC. I think the price used to be just under $30 so it's gone up, but still a killer deal...

 

I paid $49 for Porsche smog test in Mountain View, the price is for all the car.

 

Rent is not cheap. The smog equipment is not cheap. Let's not nickel and dime a smog check.

 

The guy didn't look busy that day and seemed happy to charge me $32. (I did re-ask how much just in case he wanted to charge me more). He definitely was happy I helped him start a car that his worker and he couldn't, to move into a bay. I initially offered to help him push it. I love Japan, I guess being an old Infiniti: it either loved me back, OR pitied me for my difficulty with the Panamera!
