Got a low coolant warning help

Hey all had the 2010 Panamera for almost 4 yrs and this evening I got a low coolant warning. I checked the coolant level and I took a pic attached

Based on my understanding where the red marking is means I have severely low coolant?

I shouldn't start the engine until I top up the coolant. This is my first time topping up so do I just add coolant in the hole until the red marking goes to the mid point between the + and -? Will the red marker automatically move as I'm pouring the coolant in the hole or should I just periodically check it every 250ml or so?

Finally I don't have any Porsche coolant will Prestone coolant be ok or do I need a certain brand of coolant?

I checked for leaks on the ground and in the engine bay and I didn't notice anything. I didn't notice any smell either. I'm hoping it's just a top up and nothing serious.

Thanks all

I would not mix coolants. Add some distilled water to move the gage off the low point until you can top it off with the appropriate coolant. I’ve had two Panameras (v6 and v8) and both required periodic topping so this is likely normal for your car.

You do not want to indiscriminately mix coolant types. An alternative to the Porsche branded coolant is Zexex G-40. I am able to get this at my local NAPA parts store.

Some useful info on coolants from https://www.valvoline.com/our-produc...engine-coolant .....

Porsche has a coolant standard but to be honest I have been adding Peak Global Lifetime to the system as I keep losing it somewhere. (The Porsche stuff is expensive and if it keeps bleeding out I feel like throwing away money). Just add to the middle the red pointer should float up as the level rises and help you determine the level. The little notch is the point at which it should be cold as far as I know.

You probably have a slow leak like ours I'm afraid I'm ready to send it to the dealer to get fixed. I am fed up trying to find it.

I'll try to find the bottle of Porsche coolant I have and I'll update with the spec.

There are also universal coolant mixes that can be used to top-off. FWIW, I have heard that coolant loss is somewhat of a normal thing with Panameras.

I just had an alert with a coolant leak on the right side under the car.
The source of the leak is the O-ring at the alternator outlet.
LEAK WITHOUT PRESSURE FROM THE CIRCUIT.
