Panamera 971 2018

The dashboard leather above the instrument cluster is coming off. I would glue it back but I think the plastic piece under the leather sticks out too much. It's not flushed with the rest of the dashboard, it sticks out higher than in other places. Has anyone taken apart the dash and can tell me if and how this can be fixed?
I purchased this car like that. It was in Texas before so I think this is caused by the sunlight though.
