clicking valve noise after oil change
Live in Puerto Rico, tropical island. I have a Panamera 4s, 2014 with 33K miles. Oil level indicator turned yellow, Oil change was due in the next few days. Drove it for couple of days before i could change oil. Oil and filter were changed. Oil shop suggested the use of Total brand synthetic oil, 5-W40 instead of the Mobil 1, 0-40 that I have always used. After the oil change the valve lifters have begun to sound in idle and while driving. It is a very gentle tickling metallic noise that was not present before. Might the valve lifters have suffered any damage while driving with low oil? (yellow indicator) or it might be related to the different oil brand and viscosity? Should I change the oil back to Mobil 1??

The injectors make a faint clicking noise but lifters typically bang when there is an oil issue. If you’re certain this is a new noise, change back to the recommended oil.
There isn’t much difference between 0w and 5w oils. Your new oil may have come from a bad batch.

Forgot to mention these cars have lots of oil reserves. If there was a serious issue with the oil level, there are other indications (red) that will appear on the dash. I was 2.5 quarts low after a dealer oil change and additional alarms popped up. That was 7 years ago and the car runs fine.
