Oil change

Hi all,

Do you have to change the oil right away when the message Oil reaches minimum level? Thanks.

No need to change, but when it happened to me I added 1/2 quart. Use same oil as what was used at last oil change if possible.

The V8s tend to burn some oil. The difference between the high to low mark on the digital readout is about 1 liter (slightly more than a quart).
Top off as needed when you get the warning.

I stopped using the overpriced Mobil 1 ten years ago. I'm using Rotella T6 for all of my cars and motorcycles.

Walmart sells the Mobil 1 0W40 at 24$ a gallon, I wouldn't call that overpriced....
Including oil filter (Mahle from Amazon), my DIY oil changes cost me about 60$. All of my Porsches get new fluids every single year, no exceptions.
The Panamera is the only one in my fleet that 'burns' oil. Not concerned about it since it seems to be normal for the V8 engine.

I like to use one brand/type of oil for my cars and motorcycles. Does Mobil 1 meet the JASO/MA/MA2 motorcycle oil requirements for wet clutches?

My car is using Kendall. Can I add Castrol edge or Mobile 1 to it? Thanks.

5 US Quarts is actually 1 1/4 gallon. 1 gallon is 4 quarts. (I know you mentioned you're from a different country, so just an FYI).

Here's a rebate on Mobil 1, for Walmart it has been working in the past. So approximately $14 plus tax for 5 quarts. (I know Oregon has no sales tax. Around here it's around 10%). $28 for 10 quarts, enough for the Panamera!

I'm never mixing again. I suffered a lot mixing Pennzoil Platinum Euro and Mobil 1! Your experience may be different. I'm not an oil chemist....

Many years ago, no no no (like, 30 years or so).
today, oil technology very advanced and mixing is not terrible. Most dont mix but if you're low, get what you can and top up. Its ok.
