Nice I've been eyeing the Pure850s as well which ecu tune will you go with? are the stockers on its way out and if so how many miles on it?

 

i bought the car Dec 2021 with 50k mi and went ahead and installed Racechip and IDP Plenum. Now the car is at 63k miles. The stock turbos is perfectly fine, i just want to go quicker and faster. Vivid Racing will send me a base map to drive and collect the data. I will ask them to create a 91, 93 and E85 map. All the items will arrived on the 9th of next month.

 

Look forward to seeing updates and your initial impressions on the 850 turbos good luck….. Also for running e85 have you upgraded the fuel system? (Fuel lines, injectors, pumps?) I’m just thinking that’s what we had to do back in the days on the MK4 Supra but I’m not to sure if the PTT requires the same

 

according to vivid racing since its direct injection and with the level of 800-850 hp the current fuel system is fine. Although he recommends running an E-30 mix so the fuel system doesnt get gummed up as running full 85 on the regular will cause. However, i will be running 93 on the daily and E85 once in a while when taking the car to the track so its should be good, dont need fuel system upgrades

 

Love to hear the results. Go to the track or drag strip? Any issues with the PDK after adding all that power?

One od the manifold stud broke off so the technician had to go find solutions. You can see it on the last port

 

Update:

everything installed. The car is currently getting an alignment done due to the subframe had to be unbolted to complete the job.

tomorrow is when the tune will get installed- im asking the shop to put it on the dyno to get the HP readouts after the software installed

 

Very cool! Definitely interested in hearing what kind of power it puts down and how you like it.

 

From a fellow porsche brethren we all look forward to this unique project as there are not many that have been upgrading to larger turbos, we hope it all works out..... and don't forget to post up Vids of dyno runs, highway pulls, and just your initial impressions... GL and Godspeed

 

Driving wise not too noticeable from 0-60. However from around 60-150 pulls hard continuously. I have not done any launches with launch control. Im driving it normal with a few WOT now and then because we need to get some data before the dyno tuning. October 20 is when it will get put on an awd dyno to refine. Then we will once and for all get the final numbers

 

Final Update:

dyno tuning completed and the results are

HP 560 at wheels, with 20% loss, equal 700 HP crank
Torque 826 at wheels, 20% loss, equal 1032 ft/lb crank

this is on 93 octane gas

Put close to 1,500 miles on it so far with zero issues, no lights, no hiccups…none
