So the ride was scrapped due to the 60% chance of rain. Instead, I took a nice drive out to Lake Placid and met up with a couple of old friends of mine. Any ways, teh route I took was I-75 to 31, 31-78, 78-29,29-27 and 27 north. Very nice roads to travel on. On the way back, I had lunch at Floras & Ellas. [Do a search on their famous pies. ]

Later in the day, I talked with one of the local Ferrari Club of America membersat the Shelton event. They have held events in this area before and generally receive 60-100 members. As well as Ferrari, the BMW club from Tampa is wanting to have an event in the Naples - Ft. Myers area, just wanting to set a date.

 

I like the Naples idea. It would give me a reason to travel down to see my parents place in Marco Island.

 

Max, FWIW, if the event is held end of Oct in Naples we'll be there and will be glad to help you out in any way we can...that is if you'll allow a 964 to join up!

 

Hey Matt... I got an email about that event from the local PCA prez on behalf of the Ferrari Club. It sounded like they were still trying to guage interest in such an event. I will foreward you the email. Hopefully it works out and they set a date. Sorry I did not call you back yesterday, got tied up and it slipped my mind.

My preference is for October, but I doubt that we would be able to get a good group together for both the Winter Park show 10/16 and for a Naples meet the same month.

 

The CGT Shelton has was fired up in the show room and some jerryatric dropped her drink and complained on how loud the exhaust was.

 

Now I wish I could have seen that. Sounds like an F1 car eh?

 

a simple clean performance tone for about 45-50sec. then screaming to 6,500rpm's in a heart beat. A couple of the sales staff laughed and walked away. That made the trip into town worth it.

 

OK, so what is the verdict about the meet? Naples or Jacksonville?

 

Orlando...The meet in World golf village(St. Augustine, Rally, WPk Cocourse) is a go Oct 16/17th...Naples will have an event, just probably more down the road
