Ok guys, us M3forums guys have been discussing the idea of having an track day meet the weekend before the SEMA show (Tuesday Nov. 1st thru Friday Nov. 4th) in Las Vegas on SUNDAY OCT. 30th. I have called the Spring Mountain Track in Pahrump, NV (about 50 miles NW from Mandalay Bay http://maps.yahoo.com/dd_result?newa...NV&tcountry=us) concerning this matter to see what dates are open. The only open date is Sunday Oct. 30th (I'm thinking that Sunday would be a goodday due to many people driving/flying up on Friday afternoon/evening and day light saving time). Here is some of the basic information I got from the track concerning renting it out....

1. The 1.5 Mile Upper Course is the only track available to rent and only available to rent either on Saturday 10/29 and Sunday 10/30 (they are all booked up till Decemeber after that). See the link show the course here..http://www.springmountainmotorsports...ageID%3d608528

2. Costs: $2000/day track fee (50% unrefundable deposit required to rent the track balance due on event day) + $200 supervisory fee + Liability Insurance costs ($1,200-$1,500/day - gave a call in to the insurance guy and waiting to hear back on the actual amount) + $5/person/car entry fee + $450/day ambulance fee (RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED) So total damage would be about $3,500 to $4,200 for the day (excluding the $5/person/car fee)

3. Convertibles REQUIRE rollbars (no exceptions)

4. Track day would be from 7:30am until 5pm

5. The maximum recommended amount of cars on the track at any one time is ~ 20.

6. Helmets are REQUIRED!

So, this thread is intended to guage the level of interest in participating in this type of event (either attending or tracking your car/s). I'm hoping to get at least 20 people (from here, M3forums, and E46fanatics) and up to maybe 50 to keep the cost/person down (goal would be to get it somewhere in the $100-$200/person range). For those of you who are seriously interested, we will need to collect money (50% of the estimated person cost) so that I can go ahead and book the track (includes providing a $1,000 UNREFUNDABLE deposit). I want to see if we can get all this accomplished ASAP so I can reserve the track for that Sunday and before the track is rented out by somebody else. This will be a great chance to meet up with our fellow members while at the same time have some fun with our cars on the track!
