I would like to get some local 6speeders to come race me and Bronto and kick back at K1 Speed in Carlsbad. Its off Palomar Airport road less than 2 miles from the I5 freeway.

The cost is $20 per race (14laps), 40mph karts, well layed out track....FUN!
These karts dont make you feel like god but they are fast enough to have fun plus its nice to talk to like minded sports car junkies every once in a while.

If you havnt gone before its going to cost $5 for a "license" and takes about 4 minutes to sign up on their computers. Its a very smooth running karting operation.

7:30pm we can meet in the lobby and start racing between maybe 7:45 and 8pm. Maybe even have a night-picture shoot outside in the lot. I think Bronto is a photographer (yes?).

I've done the one in Irvine a few times and it's fun as hell! They don't have the throttle response of the gas karts but they handle pretty damn nice.

well I'm coming from santa barbara...

 

It's not a problem if you leave early afternoon and plan an overnight stay. It will be 10PM by the time you are done karting, socializing, etc. Probably 3 Hours drive each way best, thanks to traffic on the 405. Molre getting down there than getting back to Santa Barbara. It's two solid hours best from here in Glendale, four hours to get there on a Friday afternoon fighting all that traffic headed for the border... Might hold out for a meeting at K1 in Irvine, or on a Saturday afternoon in Carlsbad. Evening meetings are tough if you aren't local, especially on a Friday.

 

I'll take the train down by the way so no traffic for me (I don't own a car..)
and I'll stay overnight cause I'm going to the HRE meet the day after.
it's really unfortunate that the carlsbad meets and similar are so early in the morning, there aren't any transport systems that leaves that early for me. gotta go the day before..
