Slightly offended by the comment of who will hold the money but I do understand this since I am a first time member... Ill do as you guys please in this situation since no one knows me really but the sponsors...

Trust me if I can get Boardwalk to act so fast and other sponsors that I have gotten I must know someone that knows someones brothers uncle freind.... or just someone lol in these companys and can assure you even if $10,000 is raised im not running to mexico and dissapearing wont do my wife and I anything but a weeked of fun.

Just a little back up check out this video to see my prity face and see im the owner of Luigis:
http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/dw...r.cdc8699.html

Or just google me on wfaa.com Dritan and thier is another story about me and I was also on Good Morning Texas

Anyhow whatever you guys would like I just want to have fun and make it a good fun event.

As for AJ996tt comment I had a long conversation with him today and he brought up a point I was really contemplating after I posted this. I was thinking since I said free beer how would I take it back.. But I must take it back for this first meet since I really dont know who will show up and what the situation will be.

Still holding my word on the Free Pizza and instead of the beer everyone can help themselfs to the fountain soda ofcourse.

Once again sorry for the Beer deal but im sure you mature adults understand.
And for the treasury deal we can discuss this at the meet or let AJ996tt since he has been a member forever and we all know were he works....?

Thanks again for the organization and sponsors.

Dritan. No problem on the beer. Wiser heads have definitely prevailed here.

It's going to be a great event. Thanks again for doing this.

Raffle ticket money- anyone can hold it. It can be donated to charity. It can be kept in a kitty for future events. It won't be much money in comparison to the value of the cars that will be there, the homes of those who live locally or the reputation of the nearby brick and mortar businesses. Let's get real. We do not have a big-time car snob crowd here, but we also don't have a crowd that's gonna try to steal a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Give a consensus on what you want done with the money.

Beer/booze. Maybe if one of us has a smaller event in our home at some time that is invite-only, loosening up with a few drinks would be a good idea. However, the restaurant is located in a very family-oriented shopping center in a very family-oriented town. I have a satellite office nearby and alot of my customers live near or shop near this area. Right next door to Luigis is a children's event center. People would not appreciate alot of guys revving their motors, being boisterous or being disruptive to the community. The only thing that looks worse than a nineteen year-old "Type-R VTEC Assclown" being a fool is a 35 year-old with a nice car behaving the same way. Aside from the behavioral concerns which tend to worsen in the presence of ethanol, I don't want to see anyone get hurt and I don't want to see any sponsors, Dritan or any other shops or any of us face any liability. Besides, the whole thing will be more fun sober.

Ok we decided it will be $1 a raffel and you can win one of the prizes.

Now here are the options on what we will do with the raffel money.

1. Keep it for the next meet and we will use it for something in the future.
2. I can write a check in front of everyone to Childrens medical center so it will be donated as a charity.

Either one of these is fine, whatever you guys are comfertable with is cool with me. I personaly would choose number 1 but if you guys are not comfertable with this then 2 it is.

Thanks again.

hey Dritan - the "treasurer" comment was more so aimed at newbies who aren't going to be a continued part of 6speed - not towards you. in fact, my vote would be for you or a couple of others

as regards to the raffle, i vote, obvious, to keep it in a kitty to help sponsor the next event

i also agree with aj's assessment re: possible detriments to your business and others assoc with the meet. last thing we need is to get bad publicity for you similar to the crystal cove fiasco in SoCal.

Wow, this is getting better and better.

My sentiments are the same in regards to alcohol being served. As AJ had pointed out, if it was more of a private GTG at someone's home, a few drinks never hurt. Obviously this is not the case, and it appears that some with acctually be bringing their families as well. Seems like a strong move to save it for another time.

As far as options for allocating funds raised, I would like to see this turn into a more frequent occurance. By building a event fund, I think it opens the door for bigger events that could be geared around particular charities. Just my drop in the bucket.

I think my option 1 is a great idea.

What if we do this..

If thier is no meet 90 days after this one I will wright a check to charity for the amount raised. Im sure we will have another meet by then.

As well Boardwalk has commited to us using thier showroom and confrence rooms for a meet.

Please send your information so I can send invites to the next events..

I like AJ997GT2 Protomotive 1000rwhp even better, but alas, Mrs. AJ996TT would probably find the concept none too amusing.
