2005 e55 amg question
2005 e55 amg question
Fellow 6speeders, I am looking at a possible replacement for my wifes current car. I have found a 2005 white e55 with nav and massage seats it currently has 21500 miles on it and I am just looking for your opinions on a fair price, I have looked at it and it appears to be in great shape, it is located at park place ltd in seattle wa area, they asking 44500, I thought I saw somewhere last week that someone had posted recent manhiem auction numbers for similar cars were 28-31k, I just basically wondering where the current price is on these cars, appreciate your time, Josh
Thanks, would you not pay more then 35k because of the value of cars in your area or would you say in general that this becoming the going rate, your price reflects the Manheim numbers I had seen a few days ago, great car, I just want to pay appropriately, thanks.
Knowing what theyre going for at the auction....i just wouldnt pay more then 35k for one. I saw a 2003 w 12k miles at the Vegas auction that went for 27k. Its already on ebay at 37-38k. So knowing that...i feel i wouldnt pay more then 35-36k. Just my feelings...

Can you let us know details on extended warranty?
Is it a MB warranty?
How much?
How many miles - 100,000 over 3 years?
Did you have to buy the car from MB?
This is what mbusa offers:
"remaining portion of the Mercedes-Benz four-year/50,000 mile* New Vehicle Limited Warranty applies to the vehicle. After that, MBCPO Limited Warranty provides comprehensive vehicle for another 12 months, or up to 100,000 total accumulated miles"
which on most 2005's would mean the warranty will run out very soon

Is it a MB warranty? Yes, through MBUSA
How much? I think I paid ~$4200
How many miles - 100,000 over 3 years? 3 year, 75,000 miles. I bought the car with only 18,000 miles on it so it would be a waste of money to pay an extra ~$1000 for 25,000 miles that I won't even be using
Did you have to buy the car from MB? No, I bought it from a private party, but the car was still under the factory warranty (which is a must if you want to qualify for the MBUSA warranty

I agree, it all depends on who you go through. If you have a friend or family member in the business, you can always go through them for inside deals... Otherwise you're on your own to look for deals, sometimes they're "too good to be true"
