What do noisy drop links sound like?

They sounds like clicking noises whenever you turn the wheel or sometimes go over curbs etc. Can either be one big click or several small clicks, you can sometimes feel the clicks in the steering wheel.

That’s not it then. Once the weather warms up I get this slight clunking noise from front suspension. I had it on OEM suspension albeit with H&R lowering springs which I thought was the problem. But no. I have it with PSS10’s as well. I’ve just checked I have new Bilstein drop links which came with 10’s. I’ve changed support mount and ball bearing at the top of shock as well but something is clunking (comes and goes so it is intermittent). Checked everywhere, all looks good, no play, I am fresh out of ideas. What can clunk upfornt? (and yes I removed the toolkit).

I have them on the back and they make a metallic clank over bumps. Only a minor PIA. I'm gunna put dust boots on to see if i can quiet them down.

I'm using the Bilstein links on the front, no issues. I don't think it's the Bilsteins or the links. Maybe swaybar rubber bushings are binding causing a clunk when they let loose.

New adjustable swaybars with bushings as well so that's a no-no as well. What else?

I had a spring binding issue with some stock ROW progressive springs on a 993. We solved it by having heavy duty shrink tube wrapped on them. But I don't this this is your problem as Bilstein uses helper spring rather than thinner wire progesive springs at the top. I think you've stumped the board.

You'll have to search the 997TT forum I believe, but there was a thread similar to yours where the OP tried everything until he changed the sway bar mounting bushings or greased them. That cured the problem. I'm not sure if you have the same thing but it can't hurt to check it out.
