We recently designed mesh inserts for the 996TT, which replace the plastic OEM slatted pieces. These are made out of aluminum hexagon material, powder coated black and water jet cut to shape. The goal was to design a grill that would cut down on debris entering the front radiator area, as well as improve the front end appearance of the 996TT. We have now road tested these for function/aesthetics and feel we have succeeded on both counts. Here are a few pictures.

How do they mount to the inside of bumper?

 

They have integral tabs designed to slip into the OEM slots and then a few clips on the top to lock them in place. This design eliminates the OEM plastic slats for lighter weight and a cleaner look.

Do you have anything to cover the stock core support and to stop the air from going around the radiator ducting?

 

These are simply the mesh inserts. I did not feel anything else was required. Operating temperatures are unchanged.

 

So I assume the owner will need to paint their core support black, given this is what it normally looks like when you remove the grills?
