997.1 S...4.0 Rebuild Done

MB Motorsports did the job on the rebuild and bore. Car drives fantastic, initial impressions are that you can feel the added power and torque across the rev band. Right now I just crossed the 1500 mi break in period of keeping it below 4k rpm. I'm scheduled to have the first oil change at Porsche North Houston this week. Only mod right now is the K&N intake system, which will be swapped for the fabspeed unit, gt3 throttle body, comp plenum. On the exhaust side I'm going full ipe exhaust headers back is on the docket and a tune. Other than that its time for new shocks... probably going bilstein b6/8.

Awesome, can't wait for the update after break in when you can really let it sing, especially with that ipe exhaust.

sucks that the aftermarket is lacking so much on this engines...so many choices in cams intakes valvetrain on anything else that isnt a porsche..honda k series are been pushed to 500hp 4cyl 2.7l engines..and this engines built are barely making 350hp..
maybe as prices come down on 997 the aftermarket will take more interest..

It looks like you stuck with stock connecting rods. Why go that route vs. some updated rods since you were in there?

For me it was cost/ benefit. I had to draw the line on the overall budget at some point😷

What is the average cost to build up to a 4.0?
