it cost me roughly $16-20k. My motor had failed so I chose that route vs walk away.

Without any mods, and from the couple of other dynos out there they are running about 400hp-420hp at the crank...I'm not sure as I haven't tuned it, finished with the mods, or dyno'd it. I'd say it feels every bit of 400hp and the torque is stout all over the rev band. I only have a fabspeed competition intake installed right now. I have the GT3 throttle body in hand and waiting on the plenum. Ultimately it'll have full exhaust headers back, Porsche SSK, and intake side done + tune. I'd guess I'd land somewhere around 430HP at the crank...

displacement bump usualy increases torque n very lil hp..everything else the same...after headers n exhaust then you should see bigger gains than on the 3.8.. if u added cams and headwork then you would see very good numbers..

alot of this 4.0 builds see alot of hp probably because people also upgrade tb,plenum, and exhaust and a tune after..

if i ever went from my 3.6 to 4.0 i would probably feel bigger gains as the torque increase would be noticeable even more..

u should dyno before mods as a baseline then add everything... and try and get a custom header..

Very good advice...I definitely need to also address the suspension. Time to replace shocks...I have 89K on the odo. Thinking Bilstein B6/B8. Not really wanting to go full scope PSS and all that.

Since you have an S, I assume you have PASM. I wouldn't be too quick to go to a stock suspension. A better option is to freshen with a PASM capable system and install TPC's DSC controller where you can fine tune the behavior, customize the softness/stiffness to suit your needs and make it a fully dynamic and reactive setup based on G-forces and other parameters you can set. If your OEM PASM setup is tired, I have the complete set from my '05 .1 C2S available for sale that were removed at 40,000 miles, and performing perfectly. I installed a complete Race suspension with the Bilstein Damptronics and RSS components, along with the DSC box, and a noselift kit (which is why I had to use something other than the stock PASM).

For the cost of basic coilovers, you an buy my PASM setup and the DSC box and have a much more capable and comfortable setup. Here's the link to the ad if your interested - https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...997-1-c2s.html
