Like many people on here, one of the first things we want to do to stock 996's after many years on the stock setup is to refresh the worn suspension parts and lower the car for better handling and performance. My car is a street car and I really couldn't justify spending $2,500+ on a set of coilovers mainly used for cars that see the track frequently. I did a lot of research and was going to get new H&R springs, Bilstein shocks etc.
After a lot of research I came across Ceika Performance coilovers. They seemed to be similar to BC Racing coilovers which gets a lot of great reviews from the BMW M guys. The reviews I got were these are a great street setup with casual track use.
I know that I'll receive a lot of heat for using a setup thats not KW, Ohlins, H&R etc...but hear me out:
The coiovers are made in Taiwan using quality steel and parts. They are made-to-order depending on your desired use and that's how the save money on the product and can afford to sell at the $1040 price point . When I contacted them (the only way is through their chat system via their website https://us.ceika-store.com ) they asked me questions about how I plan to use my car, how the road conditions are in my area and what would I like the car to feel like. They then made spring rate suggestions. I then placed the order and they started to build my set to spec. The process took less than 2 weeks to build and ship. I received my set a few days later. The quality was impressive. I ordered mine with camber plates. The setup did come with front adjustable sway bar links. I purchased Torque Solutions adjustable rear toe links and rear sway bar links. I had the suspension dialed into 996 GT2 specs and lowered to my taste (almost cup car ride height).
After a few drives on the new setup, I wanted to share my review thus far of my Ceika Performance coilovers.
I'm impressed! Again, my car is a street car. I'm not planning on tracking it since that needs a budget on it's own to maintain and I'm more interested in spirited street driving on beautiful back roads. I don't have bump steer. the car feel planted and confident. I pushed it in the corners and did a few "spirited runs" and it definitely felt more confident than stock. The coilovers are more comfortable than my stock setup, yet the car feels more planted and firmer. I know that doesn't make sense...but it's true. I can enjoy a nice spirited drive and not spill my coffee on the way home
The Porsche tech at the race shop in Wi that dialed my suspension in (CS Motorsports) says this "the way you raise and lower the suspension is nothing I'm used to but it seems like a nice street and occasional track setup" he also said the real test is on the track. He too was impressed with the quality .These coilovers are rebuildable.
If you're looking at coilovers at a reasonable price point and don't feel like spending 3K+ other misc parts, I highly recommend you consider Ceika Performance coilovers.

Nice find thanks for sharing, going to order a set with the code the sent me. My top strut mounts and bump stops are trashed and this is a no-brainer! bring back some life to a 19 year old suspension.

Yea, I'm like most of the 996 owners that still have the original shocks... the bump stops are rotting out and things are starting to "talk" to me over bumps and such. But the most annoying thing is the loose feeling at high speeds. The car doesn't feel planted above 80 mph. I guess I need a lot more than just coil overs, but thank you for posting. I wish you had a DIY video installing them.
I'm in the same boat although I haven't really noticed any problems. Do these coilovers replace the existing bump stops and springs as well as the shocks?

Bill,I don't know about the bump stops however you can get a set for $42.00. I just sold my 996 Cab on 5/12/18.
My Son has a 996TT he's looking at these also.
