car has original msrp of 90k, as you guys can see theres a bunch of aftermarket stuff, the original bumper and decklid are also available.
the champion wheels are currently painted silver.
I also have the original carrera classic 19" and another set of sport technic 20".
other items that cant be seen in pix are aftermarket 340mm thicker aluminum steering wheel (ruf style), and afterhours (loud) mufflers.
I will consider parting out the car if it comes to that point.
hey Aaron, ya ive had the car for over 6 years! longest ive ever kept one. not sure what the failure was, havent had it checked out yet, but basically threw a rod thru the case, oil and metal shavings everywhere. i called a few places after researching the net, this place in long beach looks good and has worked on bunch of 996's cause of rms problems, they said rebuild would start at around 7-8k and price will depend on what replacement parts he can source or will need to buy new. I can probably get a used engine around 10-12k from la porsche dismantlers or ebay. If I dont find a buyer I will likely lean towards just swapping the engine rather than a rebuild. Lucent said the 4.0 will be around 17K, that would be a great upgrade but i dont wanna invest that much in a car thats not "new" to me
Not to get off topic but can you PM me info about the 4.0? Is Lucent a performance shop?

thanks, ya I think so too cause the buyer can just basically get a factory engine thru porsche with warranty or go crazy with an aftermarket setup which will be covered by that shop.
