What: We're selling my wife's 2014 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD as our family of 7 with every kid playing sports is just not as big as we feel we need. We're in the process of buying a 2015 Suburban (I could NOT talk my wife into a full sized van :-) ).
We bought this brand new ~12 months ago. It's in close to new condition with no issues. Zero accidents, no paintwork, no damage, no smells, no leaks, etc, etc... Again, this is very close to new condition with the biggest thing you'll find is a very minor nick or tiny scratch here or there. We do everything we can to keep our cars as perfect as possible.
Kelly Blue Book "Excellent": $36,030
Kelly Blue Book "Very Good": $35,637
Kelly Blue Book "Trade-In to Dealer": $32,766
Selling for $33,900 or ~$2,000 under actual value for a quick sale (we're buying a 2015 Suburban).
I'd easily place ours at Excellent, but Very Good is only showing $400 less anyway.
Just under $40,000 MSRP with Original Window Sticker. Dealer Maintained by Toyota. 3yr 36,000 remaining warranty and 2yr 24,000 coverage for oil changes.
Options:
Leather, Power, and Heated Seats
5,000 tow capacity with tow package
6-speed automatic transmission
Factory Navigation
18" Alloys with Michelin tires in excellent condition (60,000 mile rated)
Hill Start and Down Hill Assit
All Wheel Drive (4x4)
8-passenger
Keyless Entry Key Fobs (enters and unlocks the car) , Push Button Start
Roof Rails & Factory Roof Rack (purchased at the Toyota Dealer)
2nd Row Sun Shade for the Windows (manual, raise or lower)
Four Season Floor Mats & Factory new, unused Cloth Mats
Includes all original books, manuals, both keys and key fobs, window sticker, etc...
We're very easy to get along with and will make this an easy, no hassle transaction.
Interior: Excellent condition. No issues. Very hard to tell from new. Non-smoker. No smells or any odd wear anywhere. As close to new as you'll most likely find.
Exterior: Excellent condition. The only thing keeping it from being brand new are very minor nick here or there. Hard to see or find. But since it's not brand new and has been driven, i'm sure they are there. No accidents ever. No damage ever. All original body parts.
Shipping: We're willing to help you or your shipper out with your timeframe. The car is always garage stored and can stay in the garage until you or your shipper picks it up. It will not be driven once sold.
I have a TON more pictures, and a video so you can see every aspect of the car. But again, this is very close to new condition.

With a trade value of $32,766 (if you can get that #), it makes more sense to trade it in on the Suburban than sell it outright. $32,766 + 6.25% in taxes that you'll save on the trade differential = $34,813.
You'll be $1000 behind plus all the aggravation of selling it yourself instead of just flipping the keys to the dealer.
JMHO. Might be other circumstances to consider.
Is your family not as big as you feel you need, or the Highlander?
