Fun things for a visiting couple in L.A.
Hey Guys & Girls spending this week in L.A. and I want to do some fun stuff with the wife. I'm staying in the downtown area this weekend. Then I have business out in Fullerton; so I'll be out there during the week. We like anything with cars, comedy, nature, art, wine and shopping. I would love to take her to a vineyard, but I don't know if they have those near L.A. All ideas with as much location info are appreciated. I've got my laptop, wireless net and Google earth so I should be able to find the recommended spots.
There are so many things to do, but here are a few that come to mind.
Theater in downtown http://www.centertheatregroup.org/
LA Museum of Art http://lacma.org/ Petersen Auto Museum www.petersen.org (right near eachother)
Third Street Promenade Santa Monica for shopping http://www.seeing-stars.com/Shop/ThirdStreetPromenade.shtml
Shopping 15 mins from Fullerton http://www.southcoastplaza.com/
Wineries less than 1 hour from Fullerton http://www.temeculawines.org/

If you are thirsty and in Fullerton be sure to check out the Continental Room
115 W Santa Fe Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832
I think oldest bar in Fullerton. It can be a college crowd...Hopefully is a quiet night when you go if you go...
That whole down town area has lots of bars and restaurants to check out... all walking distance.
Also check out Fashion Island in Newport Beach... or Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach... Balboa has lots of bars and restaurants.
Also, Old Town Orange has a traffic circle old downtown area, lots of little antique shops for wives etc..
of course are a few bars and restaurants.
In Orange CA at Chapman Ave & Glassell St.
wow, the only things I can think of have lots of bars nearby... i think I need a drink

Thanks for the info my people. When my business partners found out we got to L.A. early they kidnapped us. We partied the whole trip; lots of fun. We got out for about 3 days and snapped a few pictures here and there. We did PCH and Muholland Drive. They messed up my rental car reservation and gave me a DTS instead of a CTS. All in all still great fun. That huge Caddy had me feeling old though. The sad part is the DTS; kind of grew on me.
