Wheel alignment

Anyone knows a good place for wheel alignment in Los Angeles? And usually, how much does it cost?

They are giving away 2 free wheel alignments in a raffle.

Johnson's Alignment in Torrance - does a lot of P-cars and is run by Steve Alarcon - #1 POC driver. He's not the cheapest, but the best. Don't quote me but I think it's around $75 per end.

I hear Darren and son do good work, but you have to make appointments far in advance... so no good for me.

Here's my opinion. I wouldn't go to Darren at West End based on my experience. I went there b/c of all the hype, he did the alignment with some spray can and some metal brackets. No computers or print outs. Took it for a ride down the street, car was pulling left. Went back, told him again after a short ride. He tried to make some modifications, but the car was still pulling left. So I asked him to go for a ride so i can show him, he refused. I just paid and left. It was a waste of $130.

I then took it to Beverly Hills Porsche, they referred me to an alignment shop. Car rides straight and razor sharp now. Doesn't pull at all.

Maybe it was just bad luck!

thats what im afraid of... hype has let me down many times.

i used to perform my own alignments, so i was at a loss when i no longer had an alignment machine to use. eventually, i found a place in HB that did good work. Dave's Frame and Alignment. they're first come first serve in the morning, so it works out nicely for me.

JIC/Ziel Motorsports. Jon is a Porsche guy. Owns a 997 911 and the drift/time attack 993 GT2.

Haven't used Dave's Frame and Alignment before, but my buddy swears by him. I believe they don't do corner balancing though.

He's good for basic 4-wheel alignment and corner balancing. Doesn't matter if you have a Volvo s40 or NSX.

Sorry here's a noob question. May I know what is corner balancing? And is it really necessary for daily driving?

To balance the car from front and rear and left to right as much as possible.

You need height adjustable coilovers for that.
