Rusnak experience
Rusnak experience
A friend of mine just purchased a 2006 997 at Rusnak in Thousand Oaks and they drilled a number holes to attach the front plate mounting (he was planning to install bumperplugs). it sounds like they didn't get them right the first time and drilled a second set just off to the side and up a bit - and then used sheet metal screws to mount the base.
So far they have asked that he send pictures in but I'm not sure if they plan to do anything for him. POs me because I am the one who recommended them in the first place.
Any thoughts?

do you know for a fact that they drilled all the holes? Was this done after the purchase? Why did he let them mount the plate when he wanted to use bumperplugs. I bought my car new and it came with bumperplugs in the plate holes (only two in the center of the bumper)..there is no need to drill any other holes to mount a license plate or to use any sheetmetal screws...if they messed it up he should pursue it but he should have raised hell when he picked it up
There was no front plate - or holes - when he test drove the car. When he went to pick it up, there was a front plate with the dealer name on it. No one asked him if he wanted the plate backing mounted. He figured he could use bumper plugs like I did with my '01 (the assumption was that the usual two small square holes were there to mount the plate backing). I guess the 997 doesn't have any existing holes so the dealer drilled two holes and then two more, presumably after discovering the first two weren't straight.
I'm sure they thought they were doing him a favor because most buyers probably want the front plate to avoid citations..too bad they screwed it up...be interesting to see what they offer if anything..
Holy bat****...I would demand they fill those and have the facia painted.

It looks like Rusnak is is going to make good on repairs to my friend's bumper, so it's safe to put them in the "recommended" category.
A happy ending. Nice to know Rusnak is a stand-up company.

My purchase experience there - good.
Customer service the few times I've dropped by since from service or parts dept - good.
Their policy to not install any Porsche OEM part you bought elsewhere, and their part dept not willing to match price of another authorized porsche dealer on parts so you can have it installed there - Terrible.
