Do I need Smog Check?

Hey guys, I just bought a car from out of state. Do I need smog check before I go to the DMV to transfer the title?

Yes you need a smog

I bought mine out of state too. Had to go to the DMV even though the car was originally from CA.
The funny part is when the DMV inspector came and asked to look at the engine. Walked up to the front of the car waiting for me to open the hood.
I said " the engine is in the rear".

yes, smog in your county is required.

appt with DMV is next. fill out the paperwork ahead by downloading at dmv.ca.gov. have the title, bill of sales, and checkbook ready
