Cars & Coffee meet in NOLA..
I moved out here from SoCal two years ago and was very involved in the Supercar Sunday meet in Agora Hills (supercarsunday.com). This was a non-descriminating car meet, every sunday, that drew huge crowds and lots of unique cars (Jay Leno was a regular). It was also located next to a feeder road into the phenomenal Malibu canyons.
The organizer, who managed the coffee shop that unofficially sponsored the event, is a good friend of mine. He was threatened with a lawsuit by the owners of the shopping plaza after the crowds started encroaching on their customers' ability to park (500+ cars). They eventually had to relocate the meet, and are now in a large shopping mall lot, where they are welcome, as long as they leave before lunch.
I live very close to Cafe Chateau, and can vouch for it as a good spot for a handful of cars to meet, but I don't know if we'll run into similar issues if the numbers grow too large. We may want to look at other meeting spots if this does become a regular event and draws big crowds. It would be wise to engage the management prior to using the space, too.
Off the top of my head, I can think of a few spots: Lakefront park (which already has a regular, although sometimes ghetto, Sunday meet) and the mall in Kenner. Anybody else have any ideas?
As for the driving...... ain't no canyons 'round these parts..... so we're kinda limited.

I think we will be safe for a few years at least before we come close to anything CA has to offer. As for a new sight that would work is kenner.
They have the cafe du monde right inside one of the entrances to the mall. Although like I said we wont have this issue for many years.
As for a drive, we are limited, luckily the lakefront is right around the corner and can be driven all the way to new orleans east, this can be followed to the northshore if desired where there are plenty of back roads that can be taken to various routes to ones home.

Probably won't make it, our baby is due around that time.
Lafreniere Park is pretty good, very shady and a lot of parking and shelter spots. I've been to a few get-togethers there. Most any place on the Northshore is not crowded unless there's a festival or something.
What about a cruise to and at Red Bluff, Miss. at some point?

if you are putting this on NOSR.org you will get the ricer crowd. People on Fleurobaun are saying they say it advertised on NOSR.
Has anyone thought of a more centered spot than New Orleans? We have a lot of high ends in BR and the North Shore. Maybe alternate it between cities? We have done Bimmers and Beignets at Coffee Call in Baton Rouge for several years now. Big parking lot. I hope this works but am afraid the crowd will be to diverse and more of a side show.

If it's on NOSR it's because someone else posted it.. But I don't see the big deal anyways since this was never meant to be segregated..

I was unaware it was advertised on NOSR ill look into it. As for a centered spot, I think all three could be considered as we are just a triangle to each area. Ive seen the vids for bimmers and beignets but dont think that parking lot is large enough.
This is the first run so its kind of a feeler. We would look to tweak it if things dont work out or the location needs to be changed.
Thanks for the input, glad to see that everyone is at least on board to get something like this going.

The cars and coffee meet has not been posted on NOSR, the fleuroban catfish and cars has been. So we should not have a problem with that crowd, unless it gets passed by word of mouth. Me and Killers2k are kind of the ones heading this and neither of us have posted or plan to post it on NOSR or other sites that might bring in questionable crowds.
Thanks
Thanks
There's a place in Sorrento just South of I-10 (where 22 ends essentially) called the Cajun Village which is a pretty good meeting spot. They have coffee and beignets and good parking. Kind of a midway point between BR and NO at least.
the cajun village does not have near enough parking for this size event, and very little paved. The good thing about new orleans is its 60 min from BR 30 mins from north shore or slidell 60 mins from gulf coast MS, we have many options to drive places after the meet is over.
It pretty much is a central location when you think about who may decide to come.

would you guys like for me to promote it through the South Louisiana Euro Enthusiast page?

On a side note I have cahteau cafe on board, they are excited to have us do business with them.
I also have the Lup building, Mr Lupo who owns the parking lot on board so its looking like we will have reserved parking so nobody other than the cars attending C&C will be able to drive past your vehicle.
Thanks any questions, keep them coming.
