In Charlotte and have noticed Radar my V1 Isn't Detecting
I've been noticing over the past 6-9 months as I'm driving in Charlotte and surrounding areas that my V1 radar detector isn't going off when I pass what appears to be police using radar and figured it must just be pulse radar that isn't turned on.
I'm wondering if there is radar being used in Charlotte that the V1 doesn't pick up because recently I passed officer holding a radar gun and the car next to me in the left lane was speeding and the cop appeared to have detected the speed and pulled the speeding car over.
About 6 months ago I bought 3 new V1's to have one in each of our cars and not have to swap detectors and they all have experienced this (so pretty certain its not just a bad radar detector). I have also checked the V1 site put my serial number in and it says I have the latest software version.
Any thoughts on this?

Sometimes the radar detector can out of tune if dropped or exposed to extreme heat. You can send your V1 back to Valentine for a tune up. They probably won't charge you because they are still under warrantee.
There are other possibilities why the V1 didn't alert. It could be due to improper mounting, insulated or tinted glass, the police's radar wasn't on, or the policeman was using laser. L

I do know here in Charlotte the inside car temps are insane and the detector will get too hot to touch. Seems doubtful as I still get detection of all bands of radar, but worth checking out and may have to start sending a few of the detectors in and having them checked.
