I remember reading something about an airstrip event that took place. Any plans for a future one?

I just got Hoosiers on my GT and would love to try out the traction limits but Im honestly scared to do it on the street on that type of tire.

Or can anyone recommend at least a 3 lane road that has no traffic during the day?

 

you have lights go at night. That would be your best bet. Just be careful of the federales...

George Bush, between the tollway and 75, has really good surface, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Elaborate on testing the limits...

 

The Caddo Mills airstrip costs $3,500 on a Mon or Tues. $5,000 on a Saturday or Sunday, plus GL insurance. Additionally, they want $10 per spectator and $50 per car participating. They were not happy after the last event...for some reason.

So if 20 or so 6speeders want to cough up $250/ each, I can round up another 10 or so to make it work. I've talked to them several times since the last "event". Let me know if there is any REAL interest in paying for something like this.

 

why where they upset at the last event? I thought everything was left on good terms...

 

According to the airport. Some things were said and promised...and not followed through with. I can get around that, if we have enough interest to do it again.

 

Id be willing to chip in but I doubt we will have enough interested parties.

It looks like we have 4 interested participants from here so far. If we can get 10-15 from 6speed, I can round up another 10-15 fast cars from other sites.

I HIGHLY doubt anyone can round up more than 6 people to fork up $250 to rent airstrip time.

 

I've got 10 ready to go. We just need some from 6speed.
