Looking to buy a 996 turbo in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area. Planning on flying out there from Las Vegas next week but would like to know if any of you know a reputable specialized Porsche shop I can bring this 911 to for a PPI other than the dealer to verify some aftermarket parts exist on the vehicle. This will be my first Porsche so any help will be appreciated or if anyone around the around thats very knowledgeable with these car can meet up and help me look it through would be great! Let me know!

 

you can take it to RAC Performance. They're located next to Addison airport off Midway. Very reputable shop that deals in exotic cars. I think they're still board sponsor (their banner on right side). Contact Hans, cool guy to deal with.

no link of the car anymore. Its a 2003 Blk on Blk 6speed with 25k miles. Has a GT2 add-on wing and some Ruger R10 wheels (looking like BBSs), some engine modifications as well. Owned by a classic 956 enthusiast. Maybe you guys have seen it around the Sunnyvale area?

I exclusively take mine to Porsche of Plano (their Chief Tech is one of the best in the country), but have heard good things about Autoscope.

 

RAC performance is ok. I had a PPI done there once, and unfortunately they missed the spoiler hydraulics leaking from the pump and both rams, and the microswitch duc taped to the ram. Pretty big thing to miss.

 

I must add that they did offer a discount to fix the spoiler, which was fair. It is hard to not get everything.

 

I'm highly considering autoscope, they seem to be knowledgeable with some aftermarket stuff and authorized GIAC tuner. Im running out of time and need to make a decision on where to take it next week so I ll continue to do some research on the best shop.
