The Taycan on the P site show a long, sleek suicide doored sedan. Very sexy . The actual car seems to have normal doors and is much shorter looking than the one on the site. It looks like a modified Panamara
The Taycan is certainly an attractive, state of the art, electric vehicle. My point was the actual production car is more conservative in appearance than the Mission e car shown on the website for a long time. Suicide doors and a longer wheelbase would have made quite a statement rather than a vehicle very much in line with the current Panamera.
It's cool but I do prefer the styling of the Model S. I purchased a Model 3 a few weeks ago and LOVE IT. I still have my turbo P-car.... of course!
May acquire a S in the future.
The Mission E was a concept car. Did we really expect a car with no side view mirrors? Of course, it's different, and I agree the Mission E was much better looking than the Taycan, but they are close. (ish) It does look too much like a Panamera. What has shocked me is the price. It's cray cray high.
There are some cars that don’t require review mirrors with the advent of cameras. I thought the Taycan would be one of the first production cars with it.
in terms of Cost, that’s typical Porsche. Think of the right price and add 50% and guys like Seinfeld will buy it.
Well, that's true, I have seen digital cameras and screens in place of mirrors. I agree that they scaled back the dramatic look of the E mission prototype to make the Taycan. They did this with the Boxster prototype too. I remember the concept was awesome, the reality not so much.
I agree that Jay Leno and Seinfeld will have not issues with the price, but I am not sure there are 40,000 of them around. The $107,000 Taycan 4S, with less range and less performance, is nowhere near that price if you want the amenities you would fine in a Toyota Camry. It feels like price gouging, even if it is the Porsche way.
