reverse lights.

i recently noticed that my reverse lights don't come on when I put my car into reverse... is it the bulbs? or is it something else? i heard that if it were the bulbs, my car would notify me with a check engine light or something. i don't have the cel so I'm kind of worried. I'm hoping it's just the bulbs. Any suggestions before I go out and buy bulbs that might not even fix the problem? thanks a bunch!

If you have a way to look at your car from underneath. Look for a reverse switch which is located on the passenger side of the gearbox(assuming this is a 6 speed) make sure the two little wires are not torn away.

In addition, very good possibility the reverse light switch itself is faulty.

I have a 02 and just had my reverse switch fixed. If you have seat memory a good way to check is if the mirror tilts down while in reverse.

I took it into dealership and they fixed it under CPO.
shouldn't cost too much...an hour of labor and a $10 part?
