How do you remove the engine cover switch panel in 03 996

How do you remove the engine cover switch panel in 03 996
I have a 996tt and the engin cover switch in the car next to to the door sill has fallen inside the plastic molding. I see two plugs that i would think are screw holes, tried a trox and phillips no luck any ideas how to remove cover
