Suspension tuners for 996 TT in Los Angeles area

Hi,

I purchased a 2001 996 TT and would like to get the suspension set up. The car has Bilstein dampers and H&R springs. The car feels a little "twitchy" when cornering at speed. I had a problem with the rear tires and replaced them with Michelin PS2's, but did not change the front tires (Conti's). Could the twitchyness be due to mismatched tires? The fronts were almost new, so I didn't want to replace them, but I ran across a set of PS2's for the fronts, but have not installed them yet.

Does anyone have any recommendations for suspension tuners in the Los Angeles, CA area?

Thanks

I personally wouldnt run two different tires but I'm not sure that's causing the twitchiness you describe. Mismatching tires could cause the car to over/understeer more but not sure about making the car twitchy. I've also heard from a couple race shops that H&R springs tend to be unpredictable at times.

If you can, go to BBi in Huntington Beach. They are second to none.

Hi jhuang25,
Yeah, I typically wouldn't run mismatched tires either. But I made the mistake of letting my brother have some fun on one of our favorite roads in Northern Cal, and we caught enough air to break the seal on one of my rear 3 piece wheels, later causing me to trash the tire. All 4 Conti's were almost brand new, so it was hard to just toss 'em. I wanted to try Michelin PS2's so I put a set on the rear. I now have some matching PS2's for the front, but have not put them on yet. Will put them on after I get the wheels repainted.

Thanks for the tip on GMG. I'll give them a call.

P.S. Nice set of toys that you have ;-) That Cayenne looks sweet!
