lbmw is infamous around these parts
help removing bumperettes!

anybody have a diy in painting and removing bumperettes?

You will need to remove the bumper all together...at least for a 997!
I would guess that the 996 would be the same.
The bumperettes are just pressed in with tabs on the back side so you will to push those out...also there is a plastic pin holding it on the backside too!

Hope that helps...and I hope you were talking about a Porsche!

i was looking at it looks like i just need to remove the bumperette cover to exposed the bolts. i tried to unsrew it but too tight. i have a feeling i dont have to remove the rear bumper for 996. thanks for the info anyways. i just pick up my 996tt a couple of weeks ago.

Correct, no need to remove the bumper. I just upgraded to painted ones recently. Just unscrew the bolt and then lift the bumperette, it should come out very easily...

helpful tip, thx. About to do the same and was wondering about procedure. Just ordered a painted set from bumperplugs.com
