Restart after stall

I naturally have stalled the car a couple times from a stop. The biggest factor for me to get used to is that lack of torque at the low rpms. Not to say this car is low, but to compare to the othe torque monsters in my garage, I am not used to the lack of instant torque to get you going off the line at low rpms. My issue is this, after the car stalls it seems difficult to get the car to turn over again electonically. The ignition is dead until i pull out the key and give a coupe secs to reset. Why after a stall, cant I simply push the clutch back in and refire, why the drawn out procedure?

You don't have the pull the key out, you just have to cycle it on and off quickly, and then it will start. No delay necessary. If it needs a few seconds, I would suspect a bad ignition switch.

That very well may be the issue, I am a seasoned manual driver of 25 yrs and automatically, I do the quick cycle to restart. It simply does not work, I will have the dealer take a look at it.

Hey Doc, here is what my guy in service said. I also asked him about changing the oil @ 700 miles and the break-in. What are your thoughts?

At this point (700 miles) you should be fine, as I stated before in my last email these engines are bench tested for quite some time before they go into the car. As for the ignition switch thing I have seen a couple of them but not to the point where I would say this is a "common" problem. Now for having to take your key out of the ignition after it stalls that is a safety mechanism in the car where it will not allow you to restart the vehicle if you do stall it without having to take the key out first. Just the way it works....
