What on-track A/V equipment as a learning tool?

So,

I just signed up for my first ever DE event @ Putnam Park, June 25th-27th. Since this is my first tracking (other than AutoX/Drag) experience, I'm going in with open mind and ready to learn.

I have no plans on upgrading anything on the car until I'm maxing out the driver mod w/nearly stock car. That said, I'm considering getting a nice (no overkill) A/V system with data acquisition so I can playback my laps and see where I have room to improve.

I recently saw this in-car video and really like that all the driving "vitals" are displayed/overlayed in the video:

What do you experienced guys recommend?

Separately, but related, are you guys using shift lights?

Thanks in advance, TK

driver8 is infamous around these parts
That is the Traqmate system. Setup of the unit is very simple. The software interface is user friendly and easy to understand. Another nice feature is you can share data with other Traqmate users and compare laps.

You can download a free copy of their software and some data files to play with.

There are numerous camera options. I run the GoPro camera. The only draw back is you have to manually sync the video and data.

I just bought the Traqmate and plan to install this weekend. Is there a good DIY for this on this forum? There is some stuff on the Traqmate forum, but I didn't find it here
