Mid-Ohio Private Track Day Interest
Mid-Ohio Private Track Day Interest
Guys -
A couple of us here in Cincy are trying to organize a private Mid-Ohio track day. Once I can get a soft commitment on the numbers, I will call Mid-Ohio and see what we can do on dates and rates. Since a private day on the weekend would be costly and difficult, we were thinking a weekday where we can all go out.
We have a number of 996TT's and a few Ferrari's looking at going out, so we want to keep this more of a high-end car day with at least semi-experienced drivers to ensure everyone respects everyone's space and to minimize potential for an incident. Post up if you are interested, or PM me and I can get all the info together. We are thinking a few weeks from now at minimum.
Let me know if you have any interest or if you have any thoughts about the idea.
Jeff

I'll call tomorrow and start the process, assuming 10 cars.
Depending on the date I'm very interested in participating. I'm sure there are a few more here in Central ohio that I can pass this along to as well that wouldn't mind participating.
FWIW: I participated in a private rental of Mid Ohio in 2008. We had 40 cars. 2 run groups but after the first morning session run groups were not inforced, there was really no reason as there was soo much open track time that people would come and go as they pleased and the track was never crowded. I had to put gas in my car at lunch and then again before I left at the end of the day.
If I remember correctly it was around $450 per person. Expensive but for the amount of open track time completely worth it. Also garages were included and two of the Mid Ohio School instructors (Tommy Bynre and E.F.R) were on hand for consult.

Probably be very good idea if you get a date to pass the info around to local PCA groups and Rennlist.
I know in '08 they had a suprisingly difficult time getting 40 people to attend. Not sure if it was the price or the fact that it was a week day but they struggled until last minute to get a full roster.
