My dealer does not seem to care. They do the GIAC upgrades themselves and seem to still cover all warranty issues.

The program that you describe is still detectable stock , tuned or in any other fashion. Once the file is alterd it is always differant.

I think the dealership probably feels some obligation to help you out if they do the mods and you have a problem. The dealership I go to has a tech that has been doing Porsche tuning for over 30 years and it looks like some others are also having good experiences at their local dealerships.

Dyno on Carrera S after mods

I would do the full set up if you can, as one item change won't give you a huge change, but the whole system makes if a monster.
Did you dyno the car after the mods and could you share the numbers?

I like AWE, it has a throaty sound to it... I heard it on someones car, he had the AWE Loud setup. It sounded really amazing! Some exhaust only makes the car louder, while some actually add a character to the car...

AWE and Cargraphic sticks to the OEM Porsche sound, while other companies don't... I would suggest either Cargraphic or AWE

I have the AWE mufflers and they sound AWESOME! I highly recommend this upgrade if you are looking for an improvement in the sound of the exhaust. I have been extremely happy with the quality of the AWE products and Mike from AWE has been very good to deal with. Their claim of absolutely no droning is completely accurate and was a key decision maker for me. I am considering upgrading to their sports cats later so if anyone has any experience on what I should expect (in terms of sound and power) once I add the CATS that would be greatly appreciated!

I am reading many conflicting msgs about ECU upgrades, is it really worth it for an exhaust upgrade?

What causes the droning and why are some systems better than others with regards to it?

I have the full AWE exhaust (headers, cats and mufflers) - the sound is great. See youtube clip for before (stock) and after comparison

WOW, There's some great experience and perspectives in here. I am considering taking a trip to FABSpeed to see products in person.

One thing I learned from modifying my S2000, was that it was much better to see, hear, and ride in cars with the various modifications before I purchased. Luckily, when I selected my exhaust system, my coil-overs, my supercharger, etc -- the car had exactly the sound/performance that I wanted.

I am also anxious to attend one of the Porsche meets with a bunch of other cars and see the mods.

Thanks for all the info.

Installed Fabspeed Maxflow mufflers yesterday. I couldn't be happier, PERFECT exhaust not, not obnoxious by any means, sounds more refined, no drone at all, and better throttle resonse and higher BUTTDYNO feel

Did you ever switch out your exhaust ?

I have an after market performance exhaust system on my TT and it has DRONE around 55-65 mph and I too am looking to find an exhuast sytsem without the DRONE.
