The 9500 ci and srx were not used in that comparison, the V1 has no laser jamming capabilities. Lets keep this open.

However, I do have 2 V1's and they have performed well.
The test I was referring to was done in August 2007 so how is that 2 years because I thought it was August 2008 right now not August 2009.

The $1200 Passport SRX is old technology that can't detect radar as well as the Valentine one and it is only about 80% effective at jamming laser. You would be better off with a $400 Valentine One and an effective laser jammer like the Laser Interceptor, Laser Pro Park, or Antilaser and it would be cheaper than the outdated Escort SRX.

The $1600 Passport 9500ci is 4 times the price of a new Valentine One and it still can't perform as well as a V1 with an excellent laser jammer like the Laser Interceptor, Laser Pro Park, or Antilaser.

we have the escort 8500's in both cars and we've been very happy with them. we bought them before the 9500's came out. they've saved my butt on more than one occasion. =D

V1 because knowing from which direction the "bogey" is coming from makes all the difference. I can't believe there are 4 pages of discussion about this topic..

So in California, a laser jammer is a misdemeanor if you have 4 or more units. If you just have 2 units up front then it is only an infraction. Is there anyone who knows the law and punishment who can tell me what the penalty would be if one were to get pulled over for having a laser jammer on their car?

Jamming: Electronic Speed-Measuring Devices

28150. (a) No vehicle shall be equipped with any device that is designed for, or is capable of, jamming, scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.
(b) No person shall use, buy, possess, manufacture, sell, or otherwise distribute any device that is designed for jamming, scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.

(c) Except as provided in subdivision (d), a violation of subdivision (a) or (b) is an infraction.

(d) When a person possesses four or more devices in violation of subdivision (b), the person is guilty of a misdemeanor.

(e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person who has a valid federal license for operating the devices described in this section may transport one or more of those devices if the license is carried in the vehicle transporting the device at all times when the device is being transported.

Added Sec. 1, Ch. 493, Stats. 1998. Effective January 1, 1999.

Where was he driving, on the sun? I mean 2048 degrees seems pretty hot

Yeah you have to know how to use the radar protector and not put blind faith into it. I used to average about 2 tickets a year until I got a radar detector. Since I got one about 5 years ago my only ticket has been from an airplane.

Yeah I figured it was something.

Hmm..thats pretty close for him not to have slowed down. Unless you had the radar off most the time.

You needed to clock him with a laser to know he was speeding?

If he had a Laser Interceptor laser jammer, you would have been jammed to gun with no evidence to use against him in court.
