subwoofer custom fix ??

I have a blown Alpine Type R subwoofer that has been laying around for quite some time.. does anyone know how to fix woofers or lead me to a guide for a how to on this?

I have some spare time and this might interest me to do myself..

Thanks!

I don't know of any car audio manufacturers that sell repair kits (ie. new cone, coil) to repair a blown speaker. You may want to contact Alpine to see if they do repairs.

Yeah man, to be honest I don't think that sub is worth fixing.. what do they sell for.. it couldn't be enough to fix the sub itself when you could just buy a new one. I did a search in google for someone else trying to fix it... Subwoofer Custom Fix

Dont take offense to it though man. buy a new one and move on

I just received an e-mail from partsexpress.com. They are actually now restoring speakers. They will re-cone the speaker. Here's the link:

http://www.parts-express.com/speaker...gn=email032510

They actually have your speaker on there list of speakers they repair. If it's a 10" it will cost $45, and a 12" will cost $50.

They're a great company. I've ordered parts from there many times without any issues.

Hope this helps.

All depends on whats wrong with it, if it needs re-coned then its and option but could be as simple as re-soldering a wire. Do you know what the actual issue is?
